Rat-brained Robot Does Distant Art - I haven't even read the story yet, but that is quite clearly the best headline since He's A Wild Stinking Boozed-up Nut Who Yelled Die Bitch Die And Lives In Maggots (which the Sunday People ran over a story on that 'comedy terrorist' chap)

There's a shame - just when I was getting into reading The Rub, Paul Notempo has taken the site down because, he says I'm currently getting more enjoyment out of reading other people's blogs than I get writing in my own.

The frog chorus - nope, not that shameful McCartney episode, but real Japanese frogs, making lovely noises. The site is in Japanese, so just click randomly at the links in the frame to your left [via the .microsound mail list]

Birkenhead School Leavers 2002. Er, of limited interest I know, but I was shocked by the girls in the photo. Assuming schoolboys are the same as they were when I was one, you have to question the sanity of the four girls who elected to join the Upper Sixth in an all-boys school, and a woefully old-fashioned one at that.

If I might paraphrase Prince, this is Bug versus Pod in the World Series of love. Yep, when you buy a new-look VW Beatle, they give you a new-look iPod. A promising trend - a free Eames chair with every Mini? A free pair of Lucienne Day curtains with every Phillipe Starck lemon squeezer? Canonical design give-away match-ups are the new taupe espadrilles. You heard it here first!

Network Auralisation for Gnutella - artware that turns the process of searching for and downloading MP3 files into a chaotic musical collage by downloading MP3 files which match the search keyword(s) and remixes these audio files in real time based on the structure of the Gnutella network itself.

More than 3,000 firearms were surrendered during a month-long weapons amnesty in Scotland - which makes you worry about the ones that weren't. 3,000 sounds an awful lot to me.
