HP's DJammer - according to engadget, it's an iPod add-on that's specifically designed so that DJs can use the iPod to mix and cut like they can with digital turntables. That's another way of mixing records I'll be refusing to learn, then.

flickr_rainbow2 - A rainbow of Flickr pics, made using the API. Can't wait for more little gadgets like this popping up over the coming weeks.

My pal Janet's fantastic portraits of bingo players made the front page at FlickrBlog. Nice one.

ah - bless - our poor old go-kart has seen better days (twin exhausts not shown!)

Browse Happy - a WASP project to persuade folk to switch browsers from Internet Explorer to one that isn't shit.

Tribe without names for numbers cannot count [via Plasticbag]

Collaborative knowledge gardening - interesting stuff on the group norms established on Flickr and del.icio.us with regard to taxonomy-building.

The Submit Response Fundraiser - A little experiment in reader generosity. A full post about this on the weblog follows shortly.

DropCash - a clever mixing of web services (TypeKey and PayPal) to create pages that allow donations and track progress toward a fundraising goal. After the success of raising money with Gmail invites, I might just set up a charity DropCash page for this place, just to see if I have nice generous readers!

Melting down Iridium with some crazy Russians and Oliver Sachs sounds like fun. Accidentally swallowing Iridium, less so. (Warning: after reading either story, you'll really want some Iridium.)

Don't Copy That Floppy - Did I hear you right, did I hear you sayin' / That you're gonna make a copy of a game without payin'?

Transmit 2 PDF Service - Steven Frank of Panic, Inc. has whipped up a handy Service that allows you to 'print' a PDF straight to your FTP server (Update: now with two hacks). Clever stuff, and, since it was suggested by a Transmit user, it's also a clue as to why the company is so popular with users - they're obviously enthusiasts and tinkerers as well as developers, and keen to listen to the folk who use their products. (Sorry, this post wasn't meant to turn into advertorial!)

AlterNet: Fight Fox - AlterNet are suing to cancel the Fox 'Fair and Balanced' trademark, on the grounds that the channel's coverage is anything but fair and balanced.

Scotsman.com News - Singer Sheena takes culture post - seeing the headline, my heart was aflutter at the thought of Sheena Easton on the Culture Commission. Sadly, this is actually the random lady who sang 'A man's a man for a' that' at the opening of Parliament. It's a total fucking joke that she is the only 'artist' on the commision.

MobileWhack reports that the 10.3.5 update brings Salling Clicker-like remote control functions as standard. Apparently it won't work with my t610, only fancier, newer models. A shame. [via the Spool]

Situationism in a nutshell - good overview, by Karen Elliot (Shouldn't that be Karen Eliot?)

Funny summary of the difference between old and new media at Slashdot, in response to a review of We The Media by Dan Gilmore.

Thanks to FeedBurner, you can now subscribe to this RSS feed, combining Submit Response posts with my del.icio.us links and Flickr photos.

Phone Call from a Felon, or Fabulous but True Tales from Inside the Big House - oh, I know he's a murderer and all, but Michael Alig is just so fabulous! (James St. James too. I interviewed him last year - lovely bloke.)

CAPSTERS.COM - hijabs for sporty Muslim girls. I wanted to make a comment on the choice of models on the site, but couldn't work out how to without sounding horribly racist or horribly PC. (via WMMNA)

Football Casuals and their Brands - the comments on this post are getting scarier by the day: wiz on th news fightin leeds fans n u see me scelp th guy a fuker yahooo.

£25,000 boost for city artist - Luke Fowler being the artist. Couldn't have happened to a nicer, or more talented, bloke. Well done Luke!

Centripetal Cities - they look like clusters of miniature Garden Cities. And, as a bonus, 'centripetal' is the loveliest word I've come across of late.

Austin Mitchell's WeBLOG :: Austin Powered - as entertaining as you might expect: President Bush flew onto an aircraft carrier in bomber jacket to declare the Iraq War over. Tony goes to City banquets in his stuffed shirt to declare the class war over. Premature ejaculators both.

Brain Hacks - Matt Webb has co-authored a new volume in the O'Reilly Hacks series. Sounds like it'll be totally sodding brilliant: I'm talking about minute-by-minute stuff: This is why you scratch your face when somebody else does. This is what will grab your attention in the corner of your eye, and this is what won't.

A couple of recent reviews for the Sunday Herald: A flagging talent?, on Jasper Johns being all rubbish nowadays, and Making his Mark, a look at a cracking show by Miami-based artist Mark Handforth at the Modern Institute.
