The Production Story

Making a feature film for the price of a small car was never going to be easy. Without being offered a bean up front, a talented and good looking cast and crew were assembled during the summer of 2003. Glasgow Media Access Centre donated an office, endless technical and moral support and friends and family bravely turned over their homes and businesses as locations.

'Action!' was called at 5AM on the 9th of August on Great Western Road and 'Cut!' three weeks later. The shoot took the filmmakers to the middle of Loch Lomond on wee boats and into the maelstrom of central London in the midst of a power cut and transport meltdown before returning to the safety of the West End.

Cast were responsible for their own wardrobe and makeup. Miraculously the only continuity problem arose when one of their number momentarily forgot that they were in a film and called the director mid-haircut to confess to a terrible mistake Thankfully disaster was averted by a costume change (a hooded top) and no punishment was required.

The traditional catering van was replaced by a pair of borrowed microwaves and boxes full of pre-cooked meals. The biscuits ran out after the first week but nobody complained. A borrowed Volvo estate eased the transportation problems and it was with a great sense of pride that the shoot was completed without anyone getting a parking ticket. Not even one.

The computer that the final script revisions were made on ended up being a prop in the film and went on to be the computer the film was edited on.
